Regarding the Flu Season

Current Status of Vaccine at InterMed InterMed has flu vaccine available. Please contact your primary care provider to schedule an appointment for a flu shot.

How Flu Spreads

  • Coughing and sneezing.

  •  Touching something with the virus and then touching your mouth or nose.

  • Adults may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before getting symptoms and up to 7 days after getting sick.

Ways to Help Prevent the Flu

  • If you are sick with the flu avoid close contact with others.

  • Stay at home if you are sick.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Cover your cough and sneezes.

  • Clean your hands often.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. 

Symptoms & Complications of the Flu

  • Fever (usually high)

  • Headache

  • Extreme tiredness

  • Dry cough

  • Sore throat

  • Runny or stuffy nose

  • Muscle aches

  • Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are more common with children
