Angela Tillotson, FNP-BC

Family Nurse Practitioner

My name is Angela Pizzo Tillotson and I am a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). I obtained my Master’s in Nursing from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in 2003 and also have a B.S. in Biology from Bates College.

My drive to provide compassionate, patient-centered care is the reason I became a nurse practitioner. I enjoy building the patient-provider relationship and believe that listening and empathy are key components to providing quality care. My goal is to give patients the tools they need to make the necessary changes in their life to promote health and prevent illness. I worked as a nurse practitioner in an endocrinology practice for 12 years and it is exciting to be able to bring my expertise in diabetes to the patients at InterMed. I was drawn to diabetes care because of my passion for teaching; there are not many diagnoses that require so much time, energy, and attention from a patient. I also have a special interest in gestational diabetes and part of my role at InterMed is to provide on-site diabetes services to our pregnant patients.

I live with my husband and son in Portland. As native Mainers, we love all that this state has to offer, from outdoor activities – skiing, hiking, and taking in ocean or lake air – to the arts. I love music, whether going to a concert, playing an instrument, or attending a favorite dance class. I cannot resist good choreography!
