InterMed’s Sports Medicine Practice specializes in diagnosing and treating any patient with musculoskeletal injury or pain.  The goal of Sports Medicine is to work in cooperation with physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons to correct musculoskeletal problems and improve physical abilities.  Patients of all ages are welcomed including athletes and non-athletes.  Services offered by this specialty include steroid injections, casting, back pain, acute and chronic musculo-skeletal injuries, eating disorders in athletes, exercise induced asthma, and concussions.

A Sports Medicine physician has specialized fellowship training in diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders.  Their goal is to promote lifelong fitness and wellness, and encourage prevention of illness and injury.   This specialty works in conjunction with primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, physical therapists, coaches, and, of course, the patient.
