Chiara Tomasello, DNP, FNP-BC
I am excited to be joining InterMed as a virtual care clinician. I grew up in Boston, but moved to Portland 20 years ago, where I started my nursing career. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Southern Maine, and later my Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
I first began my career in nursing following in my family’s footsteps, as my grandmother and mother are both nurses who then obtained advanced practice degrees. Being able to meet the needs of a wide variety of ages, and providing holistic care in diverse areas of health is what drew me to being a family nurse practitioner.
The most rewarding part of my career is being able to address acute medical needs, while providing support and education. My career has focused on providing accessible care to patients through multiple forums in healthcare, which I am happy to continue to do through virtual care.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my family and friends, being outside and doing yoga. It is hard to choose whether I am happier on the top of a 4000-foot mountain or sitting at the ocean. Luckily enough, living in New England, we do not have to choose.
