Melissa Bowker-Kinley, MD, PhD

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

My name is Melissa Bowker-Kinley, and I am a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. While my work involves helping children and teens, my focus is on supporting the entire family, as a child’s mental health issues often affect everyone around him or her. My passion for integrated mental health care began nine years ago when I was working with a school-based mental health program in New York City, where I could assess and treat children in their school. I’m looking forward to bringing this comprehensive approach to mental health to the pediatrics practices at InterMed.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Bowdoin College, my M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at Indiana University School of Medicine, my general psychiatry residency at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute, and my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Maine Medical Center. After completing my fellowship, I spent five years running a child and adolescent unit at a local psychiatric hospital.

I live in Falmouth with my husband and our three children. We are active in our kids’ sports, music, and other extracurricular activities, and I can often be found on the sidelines or in the stands of a local event. I look forward to working with you and your family.
