Ryan Orgel, LCSW

Collaborative Care Social Worker & Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I am Ryan Orgel, a licensed clinical social worker and a collaborative care social worker at InterMed.

I have been working in social services since 2018 and earned my master’s degree in social work from Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y.  My goal is to help individuals to reach their mental health goals through a better understanding of their symptoms and skill building.

I began my career in New York working with individuals and families in a community outpatient setting. Since then, I have worked in various non-profit settings in Maine providing individual, couples and family therapy. I have experience in bereavement counseling, complex trauma, mental health, substance use diagnosis, couples therapy and LGBTQIA+ counseling. I’ve been grateful to work in various settings within New York and Maine serving individuals of many different backgrounds and many different mental health needs. I am passionate about working with substance use diagnosis and LGBTQIA+ individuals and often take a harm reduction approach to working with individuals using substances.  I feel strongly about individualizing care to best fit each person’s needs.

I aim to be open-minded, welcoming, and humble in my approach to understanding patients’ needs while also clear in my approach to short-term collaborative treatment. I have been described by previous patients as a warm and authentic clinician.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my pets, writing music and playing or watching hockey.
