My name is Barrett Grimnes, and I am a physician assistant.
Having been raised in a very medical family, pursuing medicine as a career path was something I gravitated toward from a young age. I have always been drawn to helping others and thoroughly enjoy making connections with my patients in an effort to improve their lives. I am very excited to be entering the next chapter alongside the Family Medicine team in Yarmouth!
After earning my undergraduate degree in biology from Colorado College, I went on to the University of New England, where I completed a master’s degree in health sciences and obtained my physician assistant degree.
Throughout the years practicing as a physician assistant, I have been fortunate to gain experience in a range of medical areas including primary care, women’s health, orthopedic surgery and urgent care. I find that I draw upon all of these experiences when formulating optimal treatment plans for my patients.
I was born in the Midwest but spent the majority of my childhood in Maine. After leaving the state for several years, I returned home to raise my three children close to family and all of the wonderful aspects of life in Maine. We enjoy skiing, boating, travel and spending time with family and friends.
