My name is Jim Parker and I have been practicing cardiology since 2004 when I finished my fellowship at Maine Medical Center. After growing up outside Hartford, Connecticut, I attended the University of Vermont for both my undergraduate and medical school education. I moved to Maine in 1999 to complete my internal medicine residency and then cardiology fellowship at Maine Med.

After completing my fellowship, I worked in Lewiston with MaineHealth Cardiology until 2016 and since then have been practicing with MaineHealth Cardiology in Scarborough. I practice both hospital based and outpatient cardiology and I enjoy caring for patients in both settings. This allows me to follow people through the course of their illness.

I am the director of echocardiography at MaineHealth. I was elected governor of the American College of Cardiology for Maine and served as the president of the Northern New England Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. I am board-certified in cardiovascular diseases, echocardiography and nuclear cardiography.

My wife, Amy, and I settled in Maine after we completed our training and we feel very fortunate to have raised our children here in Maine. All three of our kids have gone through the Falmouth school system and we spend our free time visiting our oldest daughter who lives in Boston and our son who attends school in California. Amy has worked as one of the physicians at InterMed Urgent Care since 2015 and I look forward to joining her in providing the high-quality care that InterMed provides.
