My name is James Townsend, and I am a physical therapist.
I grew up in Delaware and attended the University of Delaware, where I competed on the track and field team as a middle-distance runner. I then attended physical therapy school at the University of New England, where I grew to love the state of Maine.
Following my completion of physical therapy school, I completed a 16-month orthopedic physical residency program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania. I returned to Maine in 2019 where I have worked in the outpatient orthopedic setting. I enjoy working with people who present with all orthopedic conditions but have a particular passion for helping people with running-related musculoskeletal injuries, as well as acute and chronic spine pain.
When not in the clinic, I enjoy running, biking, skiing, playing golf, camping and exploring the beauties of Maine with my wonderful wife and our four-legged friend.
