I am a board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner.
A local girl, I was born and raised in southern Maine. I earned my nursing degree from Westbrook College in 1989 and fully enjoyed 25 years as a labor and delivery nurse.
I worked locally in Portland hospitals, as well as in Hawaii, Oklahoma and Colorado, as I followed my Air Force husband around the country. In this role, time and again, I witnessed the amazing capabilities of the woman’s body, reinforcing my dream to advance my career.
We returned to Maine in 2011 and I obtained my women’s health nurse practitioner degree from Boston College in 2015. I began working in breast care, then quickly set my sights on joining the InterMed women’s health team (now Ob-Gyn), first as a triage nurse, then advancing to the nurse practitioner role.
My special interests are pregnancy care and the transition to motherhood, as well as breast and pelvic floor health. In a rapidly changing healthcare environment, I value the patient – provider relationship as a trusting and safe place to explore shared decision making.
My job is to inform you of your safe choices and help you make the decisions that best fit your life. I recognize fully the privilege it is to be part of your healthcare team.
I am so excited to work alongside the amazing providers and clinical staff at InterMed. The quality and integrity here is unsurpassed and I am so proud to be a part of this dynamic organization!
When not at work, you will find me taxiing my two school-aged children to their many events, reading, walking or body boarding at the beach or exploring new restaurants with my husband.
