Julie Franklin, NP

My name is Julie Franklin and I have been working as a family nurse practitioner in Maine since 2015. I am delighted to be joining InterMed, where I have entrusted my own health care for many years.

Whenever I walk into an exam room, I am reminded why I became a nurse practitioner and why I work in primary care. I love optimizing health and wellness in myself and helping others do the same. When problems arise, I work with the whole person to identify their root causes and the best way to manage them. I believe in integrating lifestyle into all decision-making.

I transitioned to nursing as a second career. I studied Russian, Conservation Biology, and Environmental Toxicology and wove those interests into my professional life for many years. After the birth of my children, I decided to chase a childhood dream of going into medicine and have never regretted it.

I live with my husband, our dogs and cats, and many ducks and chickens. Our three children are grown and have left the nest for now. When I am not working, I love to be outside and active with friends, family, and pets.
