My name is Katie Knox, and I am thrilled to be joining the InterMed team as a pelvic health physical therapist. I grew up in Connecticut and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont, followed by my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree here in Maine at the University of New England. Shortly after completing my graduate studies, I pursued a residency in Women’s and Pelvic Health Physical Therapy at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Upon graduation, I stayed on as a pelvic health therapist and residency faculty member.

Although I enjoyed my time in the mid-Atlantic, New England has always been home. My partner and I fell in love with Maine during our time here and decided to move back to be closer to family (and to trade crab cakes for lobster rolls). I enjoy treating all types of pelvic dysfunction across the lifespan and gender continuum, and I am grateful for the opportunity to provide care once again to the Greater Portland community.

Outside of work, I can usually be found spending time outdoors with my husband and our pup, Piper, reading a good mystery, or tracking down a great cup of coffee.
