Hello there! I’m Kaitlyn McCune, and I am honored to be joining the InterMed Ob-Gyn team. As a native Iowan, I have had the privilege of living in six states and two countries throughout my training journey and service with the United States Air Force.
I always knew I wanted to be a doctor and surgeon, just like my dad. But I was drawn to Ob-Gyn during my second year of medical school during a community rotation. It was there that I had the privilege of being a part of my first delivery, a healthy baby girl! Throughout the rest of my medical school training, I continued to see the strength of birthing parents and their families. I was drawn to the advocacy work inherent in Ob-Gyn and reproductive healthcare, and I made my dad proud with my love of the surgical aspects of Ob-Gyn. Every day, I am honored to be a part of my patients' lives, even if for just a moment, and I endeavor to ensure truly patient-centered care with each encounter.
Outside of medicine, I am an avid seamstress with a specialty in costuming, an average snowboarder, a devoted dog mom and a hopeful traveler. I love exploring new foods and sites and can’t wait to get to know the great state of Maine!
