My name is Lauren Shumeyko, and I am a family nurse practitioner certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
I grew up in North Yarmouth, Maine, and completed my undergraduate education at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. I studied psychology with a pre-medical concentration and after graduating I volunteered in Portland, Oregon, with the Jesuit Volunteer Corp for one year. I returned home to Maine in 2010, and pursued my graduate degree at the University of Southern Maine.
I enjoy working with patients on their health and fitness goals, and welcome the challenges and variety that present in a primary care setting.
I feel lucky to be a part of such a high-caliber team here at InterMed and I look forward to learning more about each patient. I feel privileged to be a part of each person’s unique journey and to share in their successes and hardships.
In my personal time, I am kept busy at home with a wonderful husband, a charming toddler and our lazy terrier mix. I am an avid exerciser and I love being outdoors, reading, going to concerts and spending time with my close-knit family.
