My name is Lea Guise, and I am the lead pediatric physical therapist at InterMed.

I take pride in developing strong relationships with my patients and their families to help them set and reach their goals. I love working with children of all ages, from premature infants to young adults. My specialties include neurodevelopmental and muscle diagnoses, foot management (including toe walking, clubfoot and limb loss), torticollis, as well as concussion and vestibular rehabilitation.

It is vital to me that my patients feel heard, supported and respected on their rehabilitation journey.

I grew up in the Boston area and studied at Quinnipiac University, where I completed my undergraduate degree in health sciences and my doctorate in physical therapy. After graduating, I decided to backpack around Southeast Asia for over half a year. There, I spent three months volunteering as a physical therapist at a rehabilitation center in Cambodia, working primarily with patients with spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries.

Following my return to the States, I met my future husband and we decided to move out West to Colorado. It was there that my passion for pediatrics was ignited, working as an outpatient therapist at Children’s Hospital Colorado for over five years.

After many years of skiing, camping, hiking and climbing in the Rockies, we started to feel a bit landlocked and decided to move back East to be closer to the ocean and family. We absolutely love living in Maine and exploring all that this beautiful state has to offer.

In my free time, you’ll find me chasing my adventurous toddler, neglecting my house plants or walking on the beach with our two rescue pups.
