My name is Peter Emery and I have been caring for adults in the Portland, Maine community at InterMed for over 25 years. My work focuses on preventive care and chronic disease management, with a special interest in cardiovascular disease prevention.
I grew up in the Boston area, but because my extended family was in Maine, I spent a lot of time here and always knew this was where I wanted to live, work, and raise my family. I completed my undergraduate studies at Boston University, attended Dartmouth Medical School, and trained in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
I take a collaborative, patient-centered approach, meeting people where they are and helping them move toward their health goals in a way that feels realistic and supportive.
