My name is Samantha Peters, I am a board-certified family nurse practitioner.

I was born and raised just a few towns over, in Gorham. I attended Saint Joseph’s College of Maine for my undergraduate’s degree where I obtained my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.

From there, I worked as a registered nurse on the inpatient pediatric unit at Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical center for three years. Towards the end of my three years my passion to learn had me searching for more. I decided to take a leap and go back to school.

I graduated with my Master of Science in Nursing - Nurse Practitioner degree from Simmons University a couple of years later.

I appreciate family medicine on many levels, especially because we provide healthcare to patients across the entire lifespan and form long-lasting patient relationships. We have the privilege of seeing patients from infancy to adulthood or caring for patients from injury or illness back to good health.

I strive to provide individualized care by being a listening ear and promoting a trusting relationship with my patients.

My background includes pediatrics and family medicine, and I have found a special interest in women’s health.

I look forward to starting my nurse practitioner career, providing patient-centered care with the exceptional Family Medicine team here at InterMed.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy exercising – whether that be lifting at the gym or on the bike at the spin studio. I spend a lot of my free time with my family exploring all that Maine has to offer - from the city of Portland, all the way to Moosehead Lake.
