My name is Alida Leavitt, and I am an obstetrician/gynecologist.
I am originally from Denver, Colorado. I attended Bates College in Lewiston for my undergraduate education. After college I moved back to Colorado where I completed medical school and residency. I am thrilled to be back in Maine and working for InterMed.
From a young age, I had an interest in science and discovering the world around me. This led me to work in biomedical research which exposed me to clinical medicine. The opportunity to build interpersonal connections drove me to become a physician and this still motivates me every day.
I enjoy the full scope of Ob-Gyn practice. I feel privileged to support patients through the joys and challenges of pregnancy and childbirth. Some of my clinical interests include family planning, adolescent care, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and medical education. I can't imagine a different career - I truly love what I do!
In my free time, I enjoy getting outside with family and friends. I also love gardening and cooking. I am excited to explore Maine through skiing, hiking and mountain biking.
