Peter Sedgwick, MD
I spent much of my early life in Massachusetts, graduating from Williams College for my undergraduate studies and University of Massachusetts for medical school. After college and prior to pursuing medicine, I was a teacher for several years in both traditional classroom settings and as a trip leader/guide for outdoor adventure trips throughout the world.
My wife and I moved to Maine in 2003 after falling in love with the state and the wonderful people who live here, and I completed my Family Medicine training and Sports Medicine Fellowship at Maine Medical Center.
As a prior teacher and lifelong athlete, I have a passion for keeping patients active through all stages of their lives, and believe that physical activity is one of the best medicines we can “prescribe.” I believe that listening carefully to people’s priorities as they navigate their healthcare decisions is the way to forge lifelong partnerships with my patients. I am extremely fortunate to have a great team for both my Family Medicine patients and also my Sports Medicine practice at the Yarmouth InterMed site.
When not in the office, you can find me with my wife and two daughters blueberry picking, skiing, hiking, kayaking, and going up to our lake camp whenever we get the opportunity.
