Urogynecology
Your Health, Your Comfort, Our Specialized Care.
Urogynecologists combine gynecology and urology to diagnose, manage, and perform surgical procedures on a wide range of medical conditions. They treat conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and other issues related to pelvic muscles.
At InterMed, Urogynecology’s scope includes consults, treatment plans, and lower-risk procedures in InterMed’s Ambulatory Surgery Center.
FAQs
What can I expect during my appointment?
During a Urogynecology consultation, you'll discuss your medical history and current health concerns with the physician. They'll ask about symptoms, conduct a physical examination, and may review any relevant medical records or test results. Depending on your condition, they may recommend further diagnostic tests, such as imaging scans or blood work. The physician will then explain their findings and discuss treatment options with you, which could include both surgical and non-surgical approaches. They'll address any questions or concerns you have and work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
When should I schedule a Urogynecology appointment?
Your primary care or ob-gyn provider will initiate care and/or a referral when it is clinically appropriate for you to see the Urogynecologist.
If I need surgery, what can I expect?
If your surgery is scheduled at InterMed, learn more about what to expect on our Ambulatory Surgery Center webpage. If your surgery is outside of InterMed, details will be shared on a case by case basis.
