We view exercise as medicine because it plays a role in treating conditions including hypertension, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, diabetes and depression. Our goal is to promote lifelong fitness and wellness.

 

Our physicians take a comprehensive approach to injury management. The team works in conjunction with primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, physical therapists and coaches to correct musculoskeletal problems and improve physical abilities.

What can I expect during my appointment?

During a sports medicine appointment, our skilled and experienced care team will perform a physical examination to offer your physician more information about any concerns or injuries you may have. Our physicians will then begin to guide you through the next steps of your recovery and offer you additional information about your concerns.

What conditions does InterMed Sports Medicine treat?

We can treat acute injuries, such as ankle sprains, joint injuries, dislocations and non-surgical fractures.

We also provide care for:

  • Overuse injuries, including stress fractures and tendonitis

  • Osteoarthritis, concussions, athletes with acute illnesses (asthma, mono)

  • Return to activity guidance

  • Pre-participation physical exams

  • Nutrition and training recommendations for optimal performance

  • Exercise promotion

  • Nerve entrapments, such as carpal tunnel syndrome

We have dedicated daily access for acute injuries. We offer in office procedural interventions with and without ultrasound guidance.
